Cillian Murphy no ha dicho su última palabra como Tommy Shelby. El célebre actor irlandés cosechó gran fama y éxito a raíz de su papel como líder de los Peaky Blinders, y ahora, está a punto de despedirse de uno de los mejores personajes de la televisión moderna. Atrás queda la serie, pero ahora es Netflix el que se esconde las cuchillas en los pliegues de la boina para presentarnos una nueva película que cerrará la historia de Thomas Shelby en condiciones.

El propio Murphy, hablando recientemente con Games Radar+ en una rueda de prensa en Londres, adelanta que esta nueva película funcionará como una gran despedida para el personaje: «Llevábamos mucho tiempo hablando de hacer una película. Y luego íbamos a hacer la séptima temporada, pero entonces llegó la pandemia y eso lo echó todo por tierra. Y entonces la película pasó a primer plano».

Una película para escribir la última página del personaje

El actor reflexiona también sobre los riesgos de lanzar una película que siga el argumento de una serie de televisión de tanto éxito como los Peaky Blinders. Es un cambio de formato importante, pero Murphy y el equipo a cargo de Peaky Blinders: el hombre inmortal tenían muy claro cuál era el camino a seguir: «Queríamos crear algo que justificara su existencia y que fuera un final satisfactorio, un capítulo final satisfactorio para toda la serie de televisión, e intentar hacerlo en dos horas en lugar de seis».

Si te gustó la serie, tienes que darle una oportunidad a la película en Netflix. Peaky Blinders: el hombre inmortal se estrena hoy mismo en cines seleccionados de todo el mundo, por lo que no tardaremos en ver las reacciones de los fans en Internet. Si quieres verla en streaming, tendrás que esperar un poco más, porque no llegará a Netflix hasta el próximo 20 de mayo. Si será un éxito o un fracaso, eso está por ver, pero seguro que será un tema candente de conversación durante varias semanas.
